Nightingale Primary After-School Club Provision
All clubs at Nightingale are currently run in-house. That means that our staff are in charge of running the clubs and parents pay the school directly for their children to attend.
From September we are proposing to move into a partnership with an outside company called Let Me Play who would then provide some of our after school clubs for us. There would be a varied timetable each week including Street Dance, Drama, Sports Clubs (such as Football) and Arts and Crafts. All of these clubs would be run by trained coaches. Nightingale also has after-school childcare provision (Teatime Club) which currently runs until 5.30pm. We are also proposing that this provision moves to Let Me Play and parents would pay them directly for this service.
Would there be any change to the provision?
The provision will still be on site at Nightingale and would initially just be for children at our school. There are however a few changes that parents should be aware of:
- All activity clubs run by Let Me Play would be with specialist coaches which we feel will make them very high quality
- Teatime Club would now include a hot snack / light meal which is a benefit for working parents
- Teatime Club would finish at 6pm rather than 5.30pm
- The charging structure would change slightly.
Currently if a child does an activity club, then teatime club this costs £9. With Let Me Play this would be £10.
Teatime club alone currently costs £7. With Let Me Play this would be £9.
Activity Clubs currently cost £2 and with Let Me Play this would be £4.50
Will my child be able to just do activity clubs?
Yes, any child can join in with the activity clubs that are suitable for their age each day unless they become full.
What about the clubs my child already enjoys?
The school will keep some of our free clubs available such as choir, debating girls football, school football team practice and homework club. Depending on the take-up of Taekwondo and Ballet next year we would like to keep these clubs available also. However the price would increase to £4.50 / week to keep in line with Let Me Play activity clubs.
Will I be able to book a place at the last minute for teatime club?
Yes, subject to availability you will be able to book this directly with Let Me Play
How can I let the school know my views on these changes?
Please e-mail eibrahim@nightingale.hackney.sch.uk with the subject After School Clubs or see Mrs Hopper on the playground.
