Religious Education

The Nightingale curriculum for Religious Education (RE) seeks to provide children with an understanding of the beliefs and practices of the World's major religions and also an understanding that some people might not have a religion.  We do this through special themed days each half term focusing on different areas of the subject, or different religions where applicable.  Where possible we link these to festivities so that pupils will understand why other members of their community might be celebrating at a particular time of year, such as our themed Diwali and Eid days.

Through our curriculum for RE we teach understanding and tolerance.  We use Religious Education as a vehicle through which to discuss challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong, and what it means to be human
