Headteacher's Welcome

Thank you for choosing to learn more about Nightingale School.  Our reputation is based on an inclusive approach where every child thrives.  We develop the whole child, focusing on mastery of literacy and numeracy alongside a bespoke curriculum for the arts, sciences and humanities.  Engagement is at the heart of all we do with over twelve whole-class musicals relating to current topic learning performed each year giving every child a chance to shine.  Outdoor learning is also a key aspect of our curriculum with Forest School in place for all children from Nursery - Year 2 and annual camping residentials in years 4,5 and 6.

Our brand new, state-of-the-art facilities allow us to offer a unique curriculum experience based on practical, hands-on learning in dedicated specialist teaching spaces.  These include a cookery room, drama studio, art workshop, rooftop science lab and outdoor learning area.  Our classrooms are comfortable, airy spaces allowing our children to concentrate without distraction on their learning.  The four beautiful outdoor spaces accessed for playtimes are designed to meet the needs of each age group whilst promoting physical activity and imaginative play.

I am supported by a highly experienced and creative team who are dedicated to meeting the needs of every child and allowing each to reach their full potential.  Please explore the Curriculum section of the website where you will find detailed information about our curriculum and pedagogy.

Tours of the school run regularly for prospective parents and their children and we would love to welcome you to our school.  Please feel free to book a place by calling our Main Office.  If your child has particular needs, you can also ask for a consultation with our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator).   We look forward to showing you why this is a school your child would love.

Welcome to Nightingale!
