Admissions

Places will be offered to children using the admissions criteria shown below. Some places are given to children with SEN statements. The remaining places are offered in this order of priority:

1. Children in care
2. Children who are subject to a Child Protection Plan
3. Children whose acute medical or social needs justify the allocation of a place at the particular school
4. Children with a brother or sister on roll at the school from reception to Year 6 at the time of the proposed admission
5. Children living nearest to the main entrance of the school. These distances will be measured in a straight line on a map or using a computerised GIS mapping system

You can apply for a reception class place in a Hackney school from September 1 2009, regardless of whether you live in or outside Hackney. You should complete The Learning Trust’s Common Application Form online at www.eadmissions.org.uk or you can get a paper application form from the Admissions Team. They will need to see proof of the address where you and your child normally live. Youcan list up to three state-maintained primary schools in Hackney in order of preference. For Nursery places or places in any other year groups you should apply to the school directly. Please note that attending the Nursery class does not automatically guarantee a place in the Reception class as those places are allocated by the Learning Trust.

You are very welcome to visit us before enrolling your child.  Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment when a member of the team will be available to show you around.
