Admissions

Nightingale is a popular community primary in the heart of Hackney Central.  All applications to Nightingale for years Reception-6 must be made through the Hackney Learning Trust website. Applications for Nursery can be made directly to the school.

We have 30 places in Reception each year and places in other year groups are sometimes available.  If you are interested in enrolling your child, you should first make an appointment to view the school by contacting our school office.  An application form can then be completed.

Places will be offered to children using the admissions criteria shown below. Some places are given to children with an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). The remaining places are offered in this order of priority:

1. Children in care
2. Children who are subject to a Child Protection Plan
3. Children whose acute medical or social needs justify the allocation of a place at the particular school
4. Children with a brother or sister on roll at the school from reception to Year 6 at the time of the proposed admission
5. Children living nearest to the main entrance of the school. These distances will be measured in a straight line on a map or using a computerised GIS mapping system

Please note that attending the Nursery class does not automatically guarantee a place in the Reception class as those places are allocated by the Learning Trust.
