Relationships Education

Underpinning every aspect of children's lives is their right to feel happy and safe.  Today’s children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.

There are many aspects of a Nightingale education that meet this goal, including our programme of Learning in Natural Environments, our effective e-safety courses within our computing programme and our celebration of every child's achievements.

To ensure that we meet the statutory duty to provide Relationships Education, Nightingale is following the Jigsaw programme and scheme of work.  Every child in Years 1-6 has a Jigsaw lesson each week focusing on different aspects of personal growth, building great friendships and keeping yourself and others safe. There are several documents which can be downloaded below that will give parents more information on our curriculum for Relationships and Health Education.
